Assign an alternate number to a user
You can assign a user alternate numbers. This allows multiple phone numbers to ring into the same phone with different ring tones to distinguish what lines are being called. All that’s required is the extra phone number(s). New stations or lines are not required. To add an alternate number to a user, follow these steps:
- Log in to User Hub.
- Under Admin, in the left menu, select Users.
- Select the user you’d like to modify.
- Select Calling.
- Under Directory Numbers, select Add secondary number.
- Select the alternate number(s) you'd like to assign from the drop-down list of available numbers. You can add up to 10 alternate numbers to a user.
- Enter an extension, if applicable.
- Select the toggle under Distinctive ring pattern to identify calls coming from specific phone numbers. Then select the ring pattern you'd like to assign from the drop-down menu.
- Select Save to save your changes.
