Enable or disable voicemail transcription for a location

Voicemail transcription offers users a convenient way to receive messages. Upon receiving a voicemail, users get an email containing the transcription in the email body along with a .WAV file attachment of the voicemail. Additionally, users can view the transcription directly within the Webex App.

  1. Log in to User Hub.
  2. Under Admin, in the left menu, select Overview.
  3. Select Locations.
  4. Find and select the location to modify.
  5. Select the Calling tab.
  6. Under Calling features settings, select the toggle next to Voicemail transcription to enable or disable.
  7. Select Save to save your changes.
The transcription won’t appear in the user's email if either Email a copy of message is not selected or if Use external mailbox is chosen in the user voicemail settings.

  • When a user composes a voicemail and sends it to users from a voice portal, the voicemail isn’t transcribed.
