Call recording controls on your desk phone and Webex App
Calls made to and received on desk phones or the Webex App can be recorded. Depending on your setup, your incoming and outgoing calls may be recorded automatically, or you may be able to decide which calls you want to record.
Call recording in your Webex App
These options only appear if your administrator has configured you for on-demand call recording. If you don’t see these options, you may be configured with the call record always setting.
To start or stop recordings, during an active call, follow these steps:
- During an active call, click Record.
- Then click Record again.
- To stop recording, click Record.
- Then click Stop.

To pause and resume recordings, during an active call, follow these steps:
- During an active, recorded call, click Record.
- Click Pause.
- To resume recording, click Record.
- Then click Resume.

Call recording on your desk phone
You can record calls on your desktop phone using Feature Access Codes (FAC). The following FAC options are available for call recording:
- *44 - Begin call recording on an active call
- *44 + phone number - Begin call recording when the call is answered
- *48 - Pause a recording
- *49 - Resume a recording
- *45 - Stop a recording
Use and retrieve call recording
Once enabled, call recording can be initiated by the user from either the Webex soft client (desktop or mobile) or IP deskphone.
From BDVW desktop phones
To initiate call recording during an active call, follow these steps:
- Click the more options softkey

- Click the StartREC button.
- To pause / resume click on PauseREC / ResumeREC.
- To stop, click more Options then StopREC.
As an alternative, you can also use FAC * Codes to manage call recording
- Dial *44, then 10 digit phone number.
- While in the call, call recording can be:
- Paused - Dial *4
- Resumed - Dial *49
- Stopped - Dial *45
From Webex App (Mobile or desktop)
- Place call.
- While on the call, click More to access call recording options.
