Set up Away status and call routing
Use Away status when you're stepping away from work and want to forward calls or send them to voicemail. This feature allows you to set a greeting that lets callers know you're unavailable and when you'll return. You can also choose how to handle incoming calls during this time.
Do Not Disturb (DND) or Call Forwarding is enabled, they will take priority over Away routing.
- Click your profile picture and select Availability, then choose Away.
- In the Greeting dropdown, choose a preset greeting.
- Callers will hear this message when they reach you.
- In the Ends dropdown, choose when the Away status should end:
- Select a preset option or click Custom to specify a date and time.
- In the Send calls to dropdown, choose how to route incoming calls:
- Enter a number (make sure it's correctly formatted)
- Voicemail only
- Choose from your recent numbers (last 5 are saved)
- Click Manage notifications to choose whether you'd like to be notified when a caller hears your Away greeting.
- Click Set.
Your availability status updates to Away, displaying your greeting and return time. Callers will hear the selected message and be routed according to your settings.
To turn off Away status early:
- Go to your profile picture, select Availability, choose Away, then click Turn off.
