Manage public spaces
Public spaces are designed for discovery and connection within your organization. These spaces allow you to engage with people who share similar interests or stay informed about the latest updates.
Public spaces differ from other spaces because they aren't tied to a specific team. Only people within your organization can find the public spaces you create. You can change a public space to private at any time.
Create a public space
- Go to Messaging and click the Plus icon.
- Select Create a space.
- Enter a name for your space.
- Check Make this space public.
- Click Create.

Make a public space private
When a space is public, anyone in your organization can discover it. If you decide to limit access, you can make the space private so only your team members can find it.
- In the public space, click the Space settings menu.
- Click Make this space private.
- In the confirmation window, click Make Private.

Once you make a public space private, it cannot be made public again.
Explore public spaces
You can explore and join these spaces directly from Messaging.
