Manage your spaces

Business Digital Voice with Webex App provides a flexible environment to organize and manage your spaces. Use spaces and sections to streamline collaboration and maintain focus on your projects. 

Create a space

To collaborate with a group in the app, you can create a space. Spaces work best for a group of people collaborating on a specific topic or project. In a space, you can send messages, make calls, have video meetings, share files, and use whiteboards.

  1. To create a space, in the app header, click the Plus icon.
  2. Select Create a space.
  3. Enter the name for the space.
  4. Enter the email address or name for each person you want to add to the space.
  5. Click Create.

Add people to a space

You can invite individuals from your organization or enter email addresses for people outside your organization. Each space accommodates up to 5,000 participants.

  1. Go to Messaging, select a space, and click People.
  2. Click Add people.
  3. In the Add people to this space field, type the first letters of their name or email address and select them from the list. Click their profile picture to remove them.
    • To add multiple, copy a list of email addresses and paste it into the Add people to this space field. You can add up to 30 people at once.
    • To invite people to the Webex App, type their email address and press Enter. Once they join the Webex App, they’ll see the space in their app.
  4. Click Add to finalize and send the invitation.
Participants receive a notification after being added, ensuring they can quickly join the conversation and stay connected.

Remove people from a space

  1. Go to Messaging.
  2. Select the space, and click People.
  3. Right-click the person's name.
  4. Select Remove from Space.

Customize your space

Personalize your space by uploading a picture, renaming it, or adding a cover image.

  1. In Messaging, select your space. 
  2. Click Space settings menu, then Edit space information.
    • If the space is moderated, you only see View space information and can’t make changes.
  3. To change the space picture, click Upload picture to add a new image or Change picture to replace the existing one.
  4. To rename the space, click the space name and enter the new name. The icon letter updates to match the first letter of the new name.
  5. To add a cover image, select an image from your device and apply it.
    • Supported formats: .jpg, .png, .gif, or .bmp. Max file size is 10 MB.
  6. Click Save.
You can’t edit General space settings. In a moderated space, you can only view settings but not edit them.

Delete a space

You can remove outdated or unnecessary spaces.

  1. Go to Messaging and select the space.
  2. Click Space Information and choose Leave.
  • Standalone spaces can be deleted once all members leave, including you.
  • Team spaces must first be removed from the team before deletion.
  • A space is deleted when all members leave it. If you're a moderator, remove members from the space before leaving.
  • Once deleted, all messages and shared files in the space are permanently removed.
