Forward and reply to messages

You can forward messages and files from one space to another, reply directly to messages or threads in busy spaces, or quote messages to add context to your response. Quoted replies include the person’s name and their original comment, keeping conversations clear and organized.

Forward messages

  1. Hover over the message and click Forward message. 
  2. Enter the name of a person or space to forward it to, or click Create a space to start a new conversaton.
    • You can forward messages with content like files, GIFs, and images, up to 100 MB per file, with a maximum of 10 files per message. 
    • Messages with meeting invites can also be forwarded.
  3. Type your message, then click Send or press Enter to forward it. When viewed, forwarded messages appear as quoted messages for clarity.

Quote a message

  1. Hover over the message and click More actions. 
  2. Select Quote message.
    • You can quote messages with files, GIFs, and images, up to 100 MB per file, and include up to 10 files. 
    • Block quotes can also be quoted, but only one quote can be included per draft message.
  3. Type your reply and press Enter. The quoted message includes the person’s name and shows their original comment indented above your reply.

When you see a quoted message in a space, click Go to message on the quoted message to see where it was originally posted.

Threads

In busy spaces, threads help keep conversations organized. You can start a thread or reply to an existing one.

Start a thread

  1. Hover over a message or file and click Start a thread.
  2. Type your reply and press Enter.

Reply to a thread

  1. After the thread is created, click Reply to add to it.
  2. Type your reply and press Enter.
  3. When someone replies to a thread, you receive a notification in the space to highlight the new replies.
  4. To simplify the view, click Collapse to hide the thread's details.

Reply directly

If you prefer to reply privately or avoid cluttering a busy space, you can reply directly to a message, quoting the original for context.

  1. Hover over the message you want to reply to.
  2. Click More actions.
  3. Select Reply directly. This opens a direct message space with the person, quoting the original message.
  4. Type your reply and press Enter.
